Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how StackBridge LLC (“ResumifyAI”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the ResumifyAI platform — including our website, browser extension, and web application.
By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account Data: Name, email address, and authentication information collected during registration via AWS Cognito.
  • Profile & Resume Data: Your resume content, work history, skills, education, and other information you voluntarily provide.
  • Job Extraction Data: Job posting details (title, description, requirements) extracted from job sites when you use the browser extension.
  • Usage Analytics: Feature usage counts (e.g., number of tailorings, autofills) stored in our backend to enforce subscription limits and improve the product.
  • Technical Data: Browser type, operating system, IP address, error logs (via Sentry) for debugging and security, and analytics cookies (Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager) when you use our website.
  • Payment Data: Payment card information is processed exclusively by Stripe. We do not store your full card details on our servers.

3. How We Store Your Data

Your resume and profile data is stored in two places:
  • Locally on your device in IndexedDB (browser storage) for fast, offline-capable access.
  • In the cloud via AWS DynamoDB when you use profile sync features. Cloud storage is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using HTTPS/TLS.

4. AI Processing

When you use AI features (resume tailoring, cover letter generation, autofill), relevant portions of your resume and job posting data are transmitted to third-party AI providers (e.g., DeepSeek, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude) to generate results.
These providers have their own privacy policies and data processing terms. We transmit only the minimum data necessary and do not send sensitive identifiers (such as your email address) to AI providers.
If you use a custom API key, your data is sent directly to your chosen provider under their terms. ResumifyAI does not store or log custom API key values.

5. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide, operate, and improve the Service.
  • To enforce subscription usage limits.
  • To send you important service notices and product updates.
  • To debug errors and ensure platform security.
  • To comply with legal obligations.
  • To measure website traffic and understand how users navigate our marketing site (via Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager).
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Website analytics may be processed by Google to help us improve the Service; we do not use analytics data for targeted advertising.

6. Data Sharing

We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:
  • AI Providers: Resume and job data shared to generate AI outputs (see Section 4).
  • Payment Gateway (e.g. Stripe / Paystack): Payment card information is passed directly to our payment gateway provider for processing. We never store card details.
  • AWS: Infrastructure services (Cognito, DynamoDB, Lambda, Secrets Manager).
  • Sentry: Error logs and performance data for debugging.
  • Crisp: Crisp IM SAS — live chat support widget on our marketing pages. Processes chat messages, session identifiers, and (when you are signed in) your email and name to provide support. Privacy policy: https://crisp.chat/en/privacy/
  • Analytics Providers: Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (Google LLC) — website usage statistics, page views, and traffic analysis via cookies and similar identifiers.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

7. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to understand how visitors use the Service, measure traffic, and improve our product. Essential analytics cookies (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager) are set when you visit resumifyai.com in production.
Analytics cookies may collect your IP address (often truncated), browser type, pages visited, referral source, and interaction events. This data is processed by Google LLC. We do not use these cookies for targeted advertising.
  • Statistics / Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager — page views, navigation paths, and usage metrics. Provider: Google LLC. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Support chat: Crisp — functional cookies used to maintain your chat session and display the support widget on public pages.
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager) are strictly necessary for site operation and run when you visit resumifyai.com. The cookie banner lets you accept or reject optional non-essential cookies only.
  • You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
  • Rejecting non-essential cookies does not disable analytics. To opt out of Google Analytics entirely, use Google's browser add-on or your browser settings.

8. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Restriction: Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
Our cookie banner controls optional non-essential cookies (such as marketing). Essential analytics cookies run regardless of your choice. You may opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on, your browser settings, or by contacting us.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@resumifyai.com. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your resume data and billing profile from our active systems. We keep your name and email address in a separate deleted-users archive so we can follow up on feedback, support requests, and product outreach. That archive is not used to restore your account. Other personal data is deleted or anonymised within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., payment records may be retained for up to 7 years).

10. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:
  • All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
  • Data at rest in AWS DynamoDB is encrypted using AES-256.
  • Authentication is handled by AWS Cognito with OAuth 2.0 + PKCE.
  • API keys and secrets are stored in AWS Secrets Manager and never exposed to the client.
  • Error monitoring via Sentry helps us detect and respond to security incidents quickly.
While we take reasonable precautions, no internet transmission or storage is 100% secure. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you provide your information at your own risk.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
